A Better Way To Build Homes... OFF SITE PRE-CUTTING & ON-SITE ASSEMBLY Innovation: We Are The Only General Contractor In Vilas & Oneida County To Utilize This Highly Efficient And Accurate Method Of Construction! |
The old fashioned method of measuring and cutting framing members at the job site is slow and prone to errors and in-accuracies. At Northwood Design, we've developed a highly efficient method of construction that substantially cuts labor costs and at the same time produces a better built home. Essentially, the process includes cutting all the framing components at our indoor facilities and then assembling them at the work site. Once at the job site, rapid assembly of the precut components takes place and the resulting house is simply more accurate and better built. The real benefit however is the labor savings. Our homes can be cut and framed with the roof on in a fraction of the normal time. |
#1. The most essential component of our unique method of construction is the extremely detailed, computer generated drawings we use to cut and fabricate components. The accuracy & efficiency we are able to attain simply cannot be produced by the old-fashioned and out-dated method of cutting and layout at the job site.
#2. After all the home components have been completely cut at our facilities, the materials are delivered to the job site by boom truck and placed in the most convenient locations around the site to maximize efficiency. Once again, labor and material handling are reduced.
#3. Following the detailed framing drawings, the pre-cut components are laid out and quickly assembled. Each and every board has already been accurately pre-cut and labeled at our indoor facilities.
#4. After the wall is assembled, it is raised using wall jacks. Each individual wall is assembled from the pre-cut components and raised in sequence.
#5. The framing of the home is completed and ready for the roof shingles in a fraction of the time required by the old fashioned method of cutting and layout at the job site.
#6. The finished home is built to extremely close tolerances. Walls are perfectly straight, level and plumb!
